10 Commandments of the Shut In

 

  1. Once you're in there is no leaving, this is a shut-in and you are now shut in!
  2. There is absolutely no eating, drinking or chewing gum allowed in the sanctuary!
  3. When going to the restroom you must be accompanied by a youth leader.
  4. No cell phones, IPOD's, CD players or electronic games are to be in use during the shut in.
  5. Disrespecting youth leaders will not be tolerated!
  6. Name calling, foul language and/or profanity will not be tolerated.
  7. No PDA-Public Display of Affection - no sharing phone numbers, e-mail addresses, myspace/facebook informatiom, etc. We are here for the Holy hook up!
  8. No sleeping until told otherwise!
  9. No side conversations during the shut-in activities, no cliques!
  10. You are commanded to enjoy the presence of the Lord!

Shut In detail:

 

9:30-11:00 p.m. - registration

10:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m. - Concert/Worship/Activities, etc . . .

7:30 a.m. -8:30 a.m. - Breakfast at Hometown

9:30 a.m. - Pick up by Parents/Guardian

 

All students must have permission slip signed by parents/guardian - the permission slip is located on the website:  http://www.aocyouth.org/

What not to bring?

  • Sleeping Bags/comforter/sheets/pillows
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Drugs (legal or illegal) unless prescribed by Doctor
  • IPOD, mp3, CD players, electronic games
  • No reading materials of any sorts besides the Bible

What to bring?

  • Bible (ESV, KJV, NKJV, NIV, The Message, etc . . .)
  • Notebook and pen
  • Extra Money for CDs, T-shirts
  • Willing heart
  • Mind ready to be changed

 

FAQ

 

What is a Shut In?

 

It is a 12 hour event that is designed to bring this generation into the reality of Christ.  It is a time to focus on eternity things and struggles that many are facing.  This is event is a time to meet with Father God and have Him speak to our hearts and change them.  It is also a time of celebration and true reflection of who God is and who we are in light of the revelation of who He is. 

 

Why does it cost?

 

The cost includes transportation to Hometown Buffet and breakfast.  It is also helps with the expenses for the evening.

 

Why sleeping is discouraged?

 

We don't want you to miss out on anything that God has in store for you for that night.  We do have a time for you to rest but we want you to take advantage of this time with Father God.

 

What if I have to go?

 

You are only allowed to go if you are 18 years or older.  Otherwise don't come if you have to leave. 

 

What time can I expect to home? 

9:30 a.m.
